Wednesday 9th June

Today has been a day of expensive houses alongside the canal! Kings Langley and its environs is obviously a very expensive place to live. We passed Apsley Marina which was built in 2003 and is part of a smart regeneration project. At Kings Langley is the old Ovaltine works which have now been pulled down but they left the lovely art deco façade (which sadly we didn’t see) and built very expensive flats behind it. We were soon motoring under the M25 (which had a traffic jam on it!) and thinking that we were leaving the lovely countryside behind – how wrong we were!! In fact we went under an M25 spur road which goes into Watford and it was so beautiful that we stopped for the night. It had to be one of the nicest spots that we have moored at on this trip. The house in the photo was opposite us. Richard cooked a barbeque though we ate down below as it was a little chilly. We were lucky with the weather today as there was only one heavy shower and that was over lunch time. Millie and I went for a long walk until she decided that we had gone far enough and sat down and refused to move! Once I turned round she hopped and skipped around as usual :-)
