Thursday 21st October

Not much to report today. We set off up river and arrived at Boulters Lock. The gates were open but there was no sign of life. We tied up and Richard went off to look for the lock keeper but couldn’t find him. It wasn’t on self service but Richard tried the controls but they were completely dead. We were just going to make a cup of coffee when the Lock Keeper appeared – he just said good morning to me but told Richard that he was sorry but had been on the loo!!! We then did Cookham and Marlow locks and stopped in Marlow to go shopping and have lunch. It was then Temple, Hurley, Hambledon and finally Marsh locks before stopping for the night at Wargrave Marsh in a very similar place to where we stopped on the way down. Millie loved it and was soon coming and going – which she did all evening. We may have to get a cat flap put in as it was pretty chilly with the hatch open for her! No photos again today so a couple more old ones.
