Friday 20th April

Neither of us slept very well – not sure why but we did have a lovely M & S chocolate pudding last night – maybe that had something to do with it!!  We stopped in Sandiacre again as I wanted to stock up on stamps before the price goes up and then set off towards Trent Lock.  On our arrival at Trent Lock we filled up with water and emptied the rubbish.  Richard went and had a look at the River Trent and came back rather concerned about the speed it was running at.  Fortunately a British Waterways man appeared in his van and, when asked, said that the first flood lock on the river was closed.  We took the decision to stay where we are for the time being!!  We had a quiet afternoon – Richard went for a walk but I didn’t like the look of the black sky so stayed behind though we hardly had any rain!  After dinner we went to the Trent Lock for a nightcap.
