Wednesday 14th April

We had rather a late start today as someone couldn’t wake up – and no it wasn’t Millie or I! The journey up to Market Harborough was very pretty with just one swing bridge to contend with but someone else had beaten us to it so we just sailed through :-) The wharf at Market Harborough is very attractive and they have blended the new buildings in with the old nicely. You can tie up in the wharf but they charge for that so we went a little way back along the canal and tied up to bollards, had lunch and walked into the town – about half a mile. It’s a very pleasant town with a mix of shops but no big names. However we found a Tesco Metro and managed to get all we needed and wandered back to the boat. We decided not to stay where we were as a boat had come in behind us – right up our arse as they say! We poodled off and found a very nice place to stop to take in the last of the sun – though the wind was still cold.
