We have now completed the second section of our summer cruise. A total of 49 miles and 15 locks. The 49 miles are made up of 25 on the canals and 24 on the Thames – all of which we did yesterday!! We have been through quite a mixture of areas – the unexpected green of the Southall area, the opulence of Regent’s Park, the hustle and bustle of Camden, the “grot” of East London (with a few nice bits thrown in!), Limehouse Basin and then the tidal Thames. We had been talking about the tidal Thames for months and now we’ve done it and can relax when we get back to Mary H next week. So I am signing off until Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
