The
weather forecast earlier on in the week for today was dreadful so we had made
plans to go and see my cousin, Christopher, and his wife, Sally, who live in
Newtown. Chris and Sally have a great
life! They emigrated to Tasmania in the
60’s and now spend the Aussie summer in Hobart and the British “summer” in
Wales. They have one son and
grandchildren in each country – so it’s the best of both worlds.

One unhappy dog and one very contented one |
We
drove over to Newtown in the motorhome.
Richard and I had shared the forward facing dinette seat with seat belts
and the dogs had the other dinette seat.
Niamh doesn’t like travelling - in or on anything! She has boated all her life (she is 13) but
still stands on deck and shakes as soon as the engine is switched on. Muffin, on the other hand, is so laid back he
will fall over one day! I couldn’t see
out the windscreen so it was a bit like being in a bus and having to look out
of the side window!

Two tired dogs |
I
hadn’t been to Chris and Sally’s house before so had the guided tour. (I meant
to take some photos but completely forgot L) The house sits up above the River Severn and
has been converted and lovingly restored by Sally’s family over the years over
the years to a really lovely house. We
had a lovely lunch with them and took the dogs for a walk in the woods before
setting off for Maesbury Marsh again. We
had a unanimous vote not to watch the Eurovision Song Contest so the men
watched a DVD, Penny and I played games on our laptops and the dogs slept!
