Last night’s mooring was a nice Millie spot as we had mouse remains this morning! We actually shared two locks this morning with another boat – it was the first time on this canal. It should have made things quicker but they were quite slow between the locks so we ended up waiting for them each time! I was trying to make a chocolate cake while going through the locks – it wasn’t easy! We went through Thames Lock and back out onto the Thames. I was quite sad to be leaving such a lovely canal. We tied up on the Weybridge side on some very nice new moorings as we had visitors for the afternoon. My cousin, Simon, came on with his two children, Joe who is 8 and Ruby who is 4. We took them down river and through Sunbury Lock then turned round and went back. It started to rain as we went back through the lock so we pulled over for a cup of tea and chocolate cake. When we got back to Weybridge Kate, Simon’s wife, who had been at home puppy sitting came to collect her brood. She brought Charlie with her – he is a 13 week old black cocker spaniel and just gorgeous :-) We then went up through Shepperton Lock and tied up outside Thames Court – more or less where we had been last weekend. Some old friends of mine, Barbara and Phil, came and picked us up and took us back to their house for a Chinese take-away. We had a lovely evening.
