Thursday 7th October

We set off downstream, through Cookham Lock and down Cliveden Reach. I know I said the other day about the colours changing but this was lovely with the sun shining. We actually pulled over for coffee today though Richard got goose poo all over his shoes :-( The next lock was Boulters which was on self service. There was a hire boat in front of us but they were reluctant to operate the lock so I did it. It was only semi-automatic and seemed to take an age to fill as I had to press a button (!) every two minutes – gosh two minutes is a long time when you are waiting! The next lock was Bray and then we pulled over for lunch. Our last lock of the day was Boveney and then on into Windsor. We moored up on the town side and went into town – we had run out of gin!! When we got back we decided to go over to the other side of the river and moor on the Eton side as it is much more Millie friendly. Unfortunately the wind changed direction and the planes were landing over us – one every two minutes we reckoned - also the Canada geese were making the most unholy row so between the two it seemed to take ages to get to sleep.
