We had quite a bit of rain during the night but I don’t think as much as was forecast. We had a late start and got under way to Henley where we stopped to do some shopping. We found a Waitrose – what else in Henley!! The river is certainly running fast and the weirs are lovely with the water streaming over them. The sun has shone most of the day and the colours along with the beautiful houses have been glorious. We past a field of sheep with their baby lambs which made me wonder if it really is autumn! At Temple Lock the lock keeper had a barrow load of grapes which he was going to make into wine. Apparently the chap who gave them to him grows them to feed to his pigs – it conjured up all sorts of ideas for recipes! We moored up for the night just above Cookham Lock. It was a beautiful evening and but it is getting dark early now. We lit the fire tonight for the first time and then had to open the windows as it was too hot!
