A lovely sunny start to the day.
This morning we passed Philips and Sons in Lighting who have their showroom (an old warehouse) with the doors opening onto the canal. They are specialists in old chandeliers which are all lit up inside – it’s pretty spectacular.
We tied up at Torksey Visitors Moorings for lunch then decided to go out onto the Trent and down to the Chesterfield Canal however when we arrived at Torksey Lock the Lock-keeper said we were too late to safely get into West Stockwith Lock at the entrance to the Chesterfield and that we would probably just go straight on by with the tide! The Lock-keeper tied us up by the lock which happened to be right under the sign that said No Overnight Mooring and we settled down for a quiet afternoon.
