Abingdon (River Thames) – Friday 5th May

Today was the day I’ve been waiting for - Tobyn was coming to see Granny 😊

We woke up to a lovely morning but we needed to get a wiggle on as we were expecting the family about 10am.  Some housework and a move from the meadow to the park side of the river.  I walked up to the car park about 10am and it wasn’t long before I was able to have a lovely cuddle with my gorgeous grandson.

We came back to Mary H and sat on the bank with a coffee.  Tobyn was on a rug but kept rolling over and we were a bit worried that he would roll into the Thames!  We took a walk to Waitrose to buy some lunch and came back and ate it while Tobyn had a sleep.  Next it was his lunchtime so we sat him on the table in his chair while he ate Moroccan Lamb, pea crisps and fruit – he does love his food!

Next it was playtime in Granny’s chair

It was such a beautiful day that we went for a walk up to the weir, across the lock, down the meadow and back to the boat.  It was a lovely walk.

Tobyn had fallen asleep so we sat out on the bank and had a cuppa but all too soon it was time for our visitors to go home.  I got the lovely “waking up” cuddle before putting Tobes into his car seat and waving them all goodbye.  It was sad to see them go but I will be seeing them again next weekend when I will be staying with them.

We had a quiet evening and finally drunk the bottle of sparkling which was in the fridge for our anniversary!
