Dunchurch Pools Marina (North Oxford Canal) – Thursday 12th April

I had a rotten night’s sleep – indigestion and probably a little bit too much wine!  Richard decided to get away about 10am so I stayed in bed – there was nothing to get up for!  The weather forecast had said mist and it was right – I could hardly see anything

Richard pulled over at Bridge 100 for lunch and by that time I was up and showered!  We were heading back to Dunchurch Pools for the night.  If the weather forecast wasn’t for sun next week I would be heading home instead of going to Sainsburys to stock up!  We needed fresh food also water and to empty the elsan, so it seemed to make sense.

I always feel so sad when I see a boat like this.  I would love to know the history behind it.  The mooring is also a real mess.

We got back to Dunchurch Pools in the mist.  I summoned up the energy to go to Sainsburys and then collapsed in a heap until bedtime.  Honestly, I didn’t drink that much last night but with what I did drink and the bad night I felt pretty crap all day

  1. I recall the first time we passed THAT boat. It was 2005, our 3rd time hiring and we had almost completed the Warwickshire Ring. It actually looked worst back then so maybe one day it will be fully restored.
